Your work will have a direct impact on patients, clinicians, and our ability to scale. In this role, you'll work collaboratively through the full product cycle—from inception to results—taking responsibility for your tasks and, with mentorship and support, driving small projects to completion in our remote environment. You’ll collaborate deeply with Product and Design peers and cross-functional teams, including clinicians and non-technical stakeholders, to ensure our products meet the needs of both users and the business. Flexibility and adaptability will be key, as the product needs and company priorities shift rapidly in this fast-evolving, growth-stage company. We seek to adapt in the face of ambiguous, new challenges. - Collaborate cross-functionally in both sourcing new ideas and implementing improvements from our amazing community of clinicians and care team. You’ll be encouraged to ask even “dumb” questions as you work directly with our technical and non-technical teams to build the next generation of our products. - Improve quality continuously through healthy software development habits, asking questions, and communicating issues. Use code reviews, test coverage, quality assurance work, debugging, system maintenance, and refactoring as primary tools to enhance systems. - Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies (including AI tooling), and best practices to drive innovation and excellence in product design and implementation. Skills & Competencies - 1+ years experience in engineering, with solid SDLC fundamentals and a strong appetite for learning. Experience at a growth-stage company is a plus. - Strong foundational problem-solving skills for low- to moderate- complexity technical challenges and debugging issues across a full stack, cloud-based application. - Product-minded orientation, with an eye towards the customer and a habit of working with the Product team to deliver solutions that are tightly scoped (MVP) to solve business problems quickly. - Effective collaboration and communication with a habit of leading with curiosity, and clearly communicating technical concepts, roadblocks, and progress with teammates. - Passionate about our mission to make evidence-based addiction treatment universally accessible. - [nice to have] Experience in an agile environment including highly collaborative development, value-driven with hypotheses and experiment design, and an overall iterative development mindset. - [nice to have] Background in a regulated industry, ideally healthcare—telehealth is a big plus—and can bring a thoughtful approach to compliant, private, secure software that remains nimble and modern. Our Benefits Include: - Remote work anywhere in the United States - Competitive medical, vision, and health insurance (many plans are fully covered for the employee!) - Start with 20 days (4 weeks) of PTO, increasing to 5 weeks after 2 years and 6 weeks after 5 years of tenure - One-time Work From Home Stipend - 10 company holidays - 401k Contribution Platform - Additional benefits offered through our benefits provider such as life insurance, short and long term disability, financial wellness, virtual primary care, among others! #LI-Remote Ophelia Compensation Overview - We set compensation based on the level and skills required for the role.
