• Your mission is to become the technical backbone of our go-to-market motion, partnering directly with Sales to win complex enterprise deals and translating customer needs into scalable, production-ready solutions. • As our first Solutions Architect, you will operate as a true founding member of the GTM team. • You will work side-by-side with our Head of Sales/AEs to drive technical discovery, shape solutions, and de-risk deals across AI safety, evaluation, safety monitoring and human-data workflows. • This is a highly customer-facing, pre-sales role. • You will engage deeply with ML platform teams, safety/alignment leaders, and data organizations, helping them understand how mpathic integrates into their systems via APIs, human services, and our platform. • You will also define how Solutions Architecture works at mpathic: building the playbooks, demos, assets, and patterns that enable us to scale.

• Reviewing AI-generated customer support responses for accuracy, clarity, and helpfulness • Evaluating tone, empathy, and professionalism in customer interactions • Identifying poor support behaviors (e.g., dismissiveness, lack of resolution, incorrect guidance) • Assessing whether AI responses appropriately address customer intent and resolve issues • Evaluating how AI handles frustration, confusion, or escalating user behavior • Identifying gaps in responses, including missing steps, unclear instructions, or lack of follow-through • Detecting overconfident, misleading, or incorrect responses • Evaluating multi-turn conversations for consistency, escalation handling, and resolution quality • Identifying patterns of agreement without problem-solving (e.g., empty empathy or unhelpful reassurance) • Participating in or reviewing red teaming exercises to surface failure modes in support scenarios • Supporting quality assurance (QA) to ensure consistency across evaluations • Documenting edge cases, failure patterns, and customer experience risks • Providing structured written feedback to internal teams • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on AI quality, safety, and evaluation frameworks • Maintaining strict confidentiality and quality standards.

• Reviewing AI-generated financial content and conversations for accuracy, appropriateness, and risk • Identifying unsafe or misleading financial guidance (e.g., overconfident claims, risk minimization, inappropriate advice) • Evaluating how AI systems handle uncertainty, disclaimers, and scope of knowledge in consumer-facing contexts • Assessing whether models appropriately challenge or push back on risky or incorrect user assumptions • Identifying patterns of sycophancy, over-alignment, or inappropriate agreement • Evaluating multi-turn conversations for drift, escalation, and policy breakdown over time • Participating in or reviewing red teaming exercises, including adversarial probing of AI systems to surface failure modes • Evaluating how models respond under pressure, ambiguity, and escalating user intent • Supporting quality assurance (QA) of red teaming outputs to ensure consistency and rigor • Documenting edge cases, failure modes, and emerging risk patterns • Providing structured written feedback to internal teams • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on AI safety, policy, and evaluation frameworks • Maintaining strict confidentiality and quality standards

• Establish a clear product operating cadence and decision-making framework across leadership • Audit and refine the product roadmap, aligning it to company priorities and market opportunities • Drive alignment across executives on product vision, near-term priorities, and tradeoffs • Own product’s contribution to revenue, including pricing, packaging, and tight partnership with GTM • Build and scale the product organization, hiring and structuring the team while establishing strong product management practices

Position Overview We're looking for a Controller who thrives in early-stage, high-growth startup environments and wants to have a meaningful impact on building a financially resilient, investor-ready company. As part of our founding in-house Operations team, your mission is to own the full Accounting function and build the financial infrastructure that scales with us through our next funding round and beyond. You'll report to the VP Finance, partner closely with the CEO, and manage external auditors/tax advisors to build reliable reporting, tighten controls, and keep the company audit-ready at all times. This is a full-time role, remote-friendly with a preference for Seattle and overlap with the Pacific Time Zone, with a clear path to grow with the company as it scales. What You’ll Accomplish In your first 2 months you’ll… - Establishing a monthly close cycle under 5 business days by owning the general ledger, close process, and chart of accounts. - Build or formalize core financial controls, expense policies, and AP/AR workflows from the ground up. - Be a strategic finance partner by contributing to board reporting, scenario modeling, and preparing our Series B data room. You’ll Thrive in This Role If You… - Have 6–10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 in a startup or high-growth environment (Series A–C preferred). - Have held a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager title and owned the full close cycle independently. - Are comfortable being the only accounting hire — building process where none exists, without waiting for a playbook. - Have hands-on experience with equity accounting, deferred revenue (SaaS or contract-based), and multi-entity or multi-currency environments. - Know your way around a 409A, cap table, and investor reporting expectations. - Are a CPA (strongly preferred) with experience coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors. - Communicate financial complexity clearly to non-finance stakeholders, including founders and board members. - Take ownership, stay cool in ambiguity, and care as much about accuracy as you do about speed.
