Role Description We're hiring a hands-on Team Lead, Accounts Receivable Operations to manage and support a team of 5–10 AR Operations Reps while also actively contributing to daily AR operations work. It's critical you can easily read and follow written instructions, so applicants who don't follow the instructions in the "How to Apply" section below will not be considered. This is not a “sit back and supervise” role. You'll lead from the front: coaching your team, solving problems, improving systems, and jumping into the work yourself. We are still a growing startup, which means priorities can shift quickly and processes are still evolving. You'll need resilience, adaptability, and the ability to give feedback that is both kind and candid. What You'll Do - Team Leadership & Management - Manage a team of 5–10 AR Operations Reps - Serve as the first point of contact for team questions, blockers, and escalations - Hold 1:1 meetings with each direct report 1–2 times per month - Monitor individual and team performance, productivity, and quality - Deliver clear feedback that helps your team build motivation and improvement - Help build a strong, accountable, supportive team culture - Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members as needed - Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Communication - Partner with Customer Success and company leadership to clarify priorities and document processes - Create and maintain clear SOPs, best practices, and internal documentation - Identify inefficiencies and proactively improve workflows - Build and maintain simple operational workflows using internal Zapier-like tools - Hands-On AR Operations (~50% of your time) - Managing shared AR inboxes - Clearing scheduled actions queues for your accounts on the Invoice Butler platform - Responding to Slack requests and internal messages - Reviewing and updating action items / to-dos for the customers you look after Qualifications - 3–5 years of Accounts Receivable experience - Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience - Excellent written and verbal English communication - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to give direct feedback with professionalism and empathy - Highly proactive; does not need hand-holding or constant follow-up - Comfortable working in a startup environment with changing priorities - Tech-savvy and able to learn new tools quickly Requirements - Experience managing remote teams (strongly preferred) - Experience with Gmail, Slack, Google Sheets/Docs, Trello, CRMs, or task management systems (strongly preferred) - Experience creating automations/workflows (strongly preferred) What Success Looks Like - Your team knows what to do and feels supported - Priorities are clear, documented, and followed through - Work gets done accurately and on time - Problems are surfaced early and solved quickly - Processes improve over time instead of staying messy - You help turn chaos into consistency Important Note This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and solving problems. It is not ideal for someone who needs constant direction or prefers highly structured corporate environments.
