Role Description We're seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial planning and analysis efforts, with a strong focus on budgeting and transactional matters. You will work closely with various departments to create and maintain budgeting templates and ensure that financial data is accurate and accessible. This role will primarily utilize Google Sheets and Excel for financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting. Responsibilities & Opportunities in this Role: - Budgeting & Forecasting: - Develop, maintain, and analyze annual budgets and periodic forecasts to align with business objectives. - Project budgeting and forecasting, including integration into spend management platforms & ERPs. - Collaborate with department leaders to understand financial needs and priorities, ensuring accurate budget allocations. - Monitor budget performance and provide variance analyses to identify areas for improvement. - Perform monthly flux analysis, or ‘budget vs. actuals’ to align on how the business is performing against our budget & create new rolling forecasts to account for changes in business strategy. - Transactional Matters: - Support the preparation and review of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. - Experience using ZIP to ensure business compliance within a set budget by project type. - Analyze and resolve transactional discrepancies, working closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial records. - Financial Analysis: - Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings. - Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reports to track key financial metrics and KPIs. - Weekly cash modeling, understanding key cost drivers of the business. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Partner with sales, marketing, operations, and other teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions. - Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide tailored financial guidance. - Financial Reporting to External Stakeholders: - Prepare financial reports and statements for external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies. - Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards in all external reporting. - Support the month-end and year-end closing processes. - Process Improvement: - Identify areas for process improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and transactional workflows. - Implement efficiencies to enhance the overall financial planning and analysis function. - Ad Hoc Projects: - Support special projects and analyses as needed, providing financial expertise to drive business outcomes. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. - Strong understanding of financial concepts, including GAAP and financial modeling. - 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. - Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including experience with complex formulas and data visualization. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. - High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. - Experience with financial modeling techniques, such as 3 statement modeling, FCF forecasting, and scenario planning. - Knowledge of financial planning and analysis best practices, including financial reporting, budgeting, fundraising, and forecasting. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex financial data. Requirements - MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. - Experience working at or with technology companies, specifically within the Hardware or Artificial Intelligence industries. - Experience working in a startup environment & scaling teams. - Technical accounting background, including experience with financial reporting, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g. GAAP, IFRS, SOX). - Certification in financial planning and analysis, such as CFA or CPA. Mission: To provide seamless executive logistics, strategic support, and proactive partnership with the Chief of Staff to enable the interim CEO and CFO to focus on Groq's most critical priorities. Location: Remote/US East Coast Responsibilities & opportunities in this role: Executive Support - Own the full scheduling, meeting coordination, and travel logistics for the interim CEO and CFO; maintain a master calendar that anticipates conflicts and maximizes productive time - Capture concise, action-oriented meeting notes; synthesize key decisions into briefs and distribute follow-up items to stakeholders promptly - Build a solid understanding of Groq's products, market, and internal initiatives; flag risks, suggest process improvements, and anticipate executive needs before they arise - Identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive execution with minimal direction, keeping momentum when executives are deep in work - Partner with the Chief of Staff to co-manage cross-functional project pipelines, maintain shared task lists, and support executive communications and deliverables - Manage occasional global coordination across time zones (e.g., partners in Dubai) while maintaining a core Eastern Time schedule, with flexibility for early-morning or late-evening windows when needed - Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the role, protecting sensitive information - Arrange domestic and international travel itineraries, ensuring compliance with company policy and executive preferences Ideal candidates have/are: - BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience - 5–7+ years of experience providing comprehensive executive support to senior leaders (C-suite or equivalent) in a high-growth, fast-paced technology or hardware environment - Proven ability to take detailed notes, synthesize information, and make actionable recommendations; prior experience partnering with a Chief of Staff or similar strategic role is a plus - Demonstrated history of working autonomously, anticipating needs, and driving initiatives without micromanagement - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence interacting with internal and external partners at all levels - Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Drive) and familiarity with travel/expense platforms and collaboration tools such as Slack, Asana, and Notion - Ability to operate primarily on an Eastern Time schedule with occasional flexibility for global coordination Why Join Us - Purposeful Hiring: You’re not here by accident, and neither is anyone else. The total cash salary range for this position, which is inclusive of the potential bonus value, is $169,700–$229,500 with individual placement determined by your geographic location, experience, skills, and alignment with internal compensation standards. This range is specific to candidates located in the United States. Compensation for international candidates will vary based on local market dynamics.
