Role Description The rapidly growing and award-winning team at Executive Mental Health (EMH) is seeking experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners for a full-time position to support the growth of EMH as a trusted provider of integrated mental healthcare. The psychiatric nurse practitioner will offer extensive knowledge in: - Nursing - Mental health assessment and diagnosis - Psychotherapy - Psychopharmacology Responsibilities include: - Conducting health assessments such as recording medical and psychosocial history - Recording symptoms - Physically examining patients - Making diagnoses - Developing treatment plans that may include medication and other therapies - Educating patients on healthy habits to prevent diseases and maintain good health - Collaborating with other healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses - Ordering and interpreting laboratory test results - Following up on patients to determine the effectiveness of recommended treatments Qualifications - Three years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is required. - Registered professional nurse authorized by the State of California to practice as an NP. - Certification from a recognized national certifying body. - Background as a registered nurse (RN) with a two-year associate degree, three-year hospital-based nursing diploma, or four-year bachelor’s degree. - Accredited certification such as the ANCC Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (PMHNP-BC). Requirements - Obtained Medicare billing privileges as an NP for the first time on/after January 1, 2003, and has a master's or doctoral degree in nursing. - Obtained Medicare billing privileges as an NP for the first time before January 1, 2003, and is certified by a recognized national certifying body. - Obtained Medicare billing privileges as an NP for the first time before January 1, 2001.
