Role Description We are seeking a dynamic Head of Medical Affairs to lead and expand our medical division. This individual will drive strategy and execution across brand development and sales, building partnerships with healthcare professionals and organizations to accelerate growth in the medical channel. The ideal candidate is currently operating at the Manager or Senior Manager level and is already delivering results at an Associate Director capacity but without the title. We’re looking for a hard charger who is hungry for the next step in their career, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to make an immediate impact. - Strategy & Leadership: - Define and execute the medical channel strategy, balancing both brand-building and sales growth. - Partner with senior leadership to shape the future of the medical business unit. - Brand Development: - Position the company as a trusted partner. - Drive thought leadership, education, and awareness with healthcare providers and medical institutions. - Prepare product specific materials, and marketing briefs in advance of any product launch. - Sales & Business Development: - Build, lead, and scale sales initiatives across medical accounts. - Develop key partnerships with medical distributors, clinics, and professional organizations. - Cross-functional Collaboration: - Work closely with product, marketing, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment and compliance. - Provide insights from the medical channel to influence product innovation and portfolio strategy. - Team Growth: - Recruit, mentor and develop junior team members as necessary, building a pipeline of strong future leaders. Qualifications - 10 years of progressive experience in brand management, sales, or commercial leadership, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, wellness, or adjacent regulated industries. - Proven track record of driving both brand visibility and revenue growth. - Strong business acumen with the ability to manage P&L and growth strategies. - Excellent relationship-builder with experience engaging medical professionals and decision-makers. - Self-starter with the energy, ambition, and resilience to scale a division in a competitive market. - Experience in nutraceuticals, or pharmaceuticals strongly preferred. - Experience working with generating and deploying CME strongly preferred. Role Description The VP of Legal, Regulatory & Government Affairs will be responsible for overseeing all legal, compliance, and regulatory matters impacting the organization. This role provides strategic counsel to senior leadership, ensures adherence to laws and regulations, and manages risk across the business. They will lead government affairs strategy, building relationships with policymakers and regulatory agencies to influence and anticipate legislative and policy changes. Additionally, this position directs internal and external legal resources and aligns compliance frameworks with organizational goals. - Manage all legal aspects of the company’s operations, including contracts, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, employment law, and litigation. - Coordinate the preparation and filing of all required documents with regulatory bodies, including the SEC and stock exchanges. - Identify and assess legal risks associated with business operations and develop strategies to mitigate such risks. - Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. - Act as the primary point of contact for external legal counsel and regulatory agencies. - Lead and manage the legal department, including hiring, training, and mentoring legal staff. - Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the legal team. - Resolve a broad range of regulatory, scientific, and technical issues concerning the application of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. - Apply knowledge of the drug approval process, and interpret the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and other pertinent and applicable laws and regulations. - Work with reviewers to determine the extent of regulatory authority in specific situations. - Develop and draft proposals for revision of existing regulations and policy statements. - Provide expert guidance, sensitive to both the technical and regulatory issues, in preparation of correspondence that interprets the regulation. - Provide regulatory expertise in evaluating and developing responses to letters from the pharmaceutical industry. - Identify and evaluate the appropriateness of potential cases for enforcement action. Qualifications - Law degree, license to practice law in CO and 5 years of corporate counsel experience. - Experience with a highly regulated industry strongly required. - Broad-based knowledge on various legal issues. - Established ability to build internal client relationships across various functions and play an integral part of the senior leadership team. - Demonstrated ability to think and contribute to key decisions quickly, and to communicate legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely. - Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a clear and concise drafting style. - Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work independently and effectively within a team and a fast-paced business environment. - Experience drafting complex commercial contracts or other experience demonstrating ability to manage commercial and legal negotiations, including strong negotiating skills and ability to influence and persuade. Requirements - Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability to manage up and work well in a collaborative team environment. - Excellent problem-solving skills. - Knowledge of Food, OTC, Cosmetic and/or Dietary Supplement regulations a plus. - Demonstrated expertise in strategic and tactical partnering with internal and external resources. - Works seamlessly in both a business and R&D environment. - Strong technical activity management in a stage-gate system is required. - Proven ability to deliver programs on time and within budget. Physical Requirements This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, frequent meetings and negotiations, and occasional light office activity such as lifting up to 10 pounds. 5-10% travel.
