Role Description As an AI Agent Software Engineer Intern, you will combine strong engineering fundamentals, AI-native thinking, and a relentless focus on optimizing next steps for agentic workflows. Help us design and build AI systems that can autonomously plan, reason, and act across tools and services. - Go beyond simple chatbots—AI that can call APIs, orchestrate tools, and complete multi-step tasks with minimal human intervention. - Write clean, tested, optimized, and well-documented code in accordance with established standards. - Design Agentic AI solutions to integrate with cloud platforms, observability systems, CI/CD pipelines, and incident response workflows to reduce time to resolution. - Build evaluations and feedback loops that quantify value in a data-driven way, ensuring new capabilities are genuinely moving the needle. Role Description Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, we are seeking a junior Software Engineer Intern or intern(s) to join our team of savvy technologists. You should be ready to be a part of solving complex problems and deliver solutions that make life and work easier to those who use our products. - Develop software, write Java and SQL code while learning high standards of quality, scalability, performance, maintainability, security and compliance with PCI and SOX requirements. - Design new database structures and code, optimized for a high performance and large volume FinTech platform. - Deliver server side software features using latest long term support Java version 11 and greater. - Collaborate with our embedded firmware team integrating card reader hardware and telemeters with server platform, as well as Product Management, QA, DevOps and other team members. - Develop Jenkinsfile Groovy scripts to automate the CI/CD pipeline for builds, deployments and auto tests. - Iterate and commit code changes to Bitbucket frequently as a member of high performing Agile team using Trunk-based Development methods. - Follow PCI compliance standards and best practices to ensure safe and secure software products. - Develop unit and integration test coverage, measured in Clover, before it is released to QA for testing, along with troubleshooting product issues.
